PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Summit Associates is providing construction inspection, materials testing and contract administration services to the City of Milpitas, Silicon Valley Intelligent Transportation System project. Services include as-built drawing monitoring, materials testing, documentation, and inspection. This 1-year project began in October 2002.
This 15 mile long project is located in a corridor comprised of Highway 17/ I-880 from the City of Milpitas to the Town of Los Gatos. In addition, local arterials and expressways that connect with the corridor are monitored as part of the network. Project features include CCTV, Changeable Message Signs, Highway Advisory Radio (HAR), and Traffic Response Timing. The fiber optic cable network transmits data and video images to the traffic control centers. A Data Exchange Network (DEN) is the critical element that allows real time communications between multi-agency control centers. |
